Although our president may have decided to leave the UN Climate Accord, we as individuals don’t have to. We can all take responsibility and do our part to insure the planets future for all earthlings. We at Black Needle Tattoo are committed to a green and sustainable future. Tattooing is a process that not only involves energy, but also involves a lot of single use plastics. Our goal is to use 100% compostable single use plastic products such as tattoo machine covering, clip cord covering, wash bottle covering, ink caps, and bibs to cover our work station. We plan on swiching our gloves from nitrile to latex, due to the fact that latex is made from natural rubber and that it is biodégradable. If a product in our tattoo shop is not compostable, we will make sure it’s recyclable. We have already switched our tubes over to recyclable stainless steel tattoo tubes, and all of our ink bottles are recycled once we are done with them. Our final challenge will be to ensure that the energy we use to keep the lights on and run our tattoo equipment is derived from renewable recourses. Thankfully we are a part of a community that has similar values, making our goals possible by 2022. We at Black Needle Tattoo stand by our commitment to ensuring a clean and waste free future for our planet.
